As you know, there are numerous features within Blackboard that require the most current version of Java to perform properly. Unfortunately, beginning with Google Chrome version 45, functionality critical to the proper operation of some Blackboard tools made possible by Java is not included.
Therefore the Western Carolina University Learning Management System support team strongly recommends that faculty, staff and students do not use Google Chrome to access Blackboard. Please continue to use Firefox in either the Windows or Mac operating systems or Internet Explorer (not Edge) for Windows and Safari for Mac.
If you would like to learn more about the technical particulars, please visit this site. http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/chrome.xml
If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the WCU IT Help Desk or call at 227-7487 or 866-928-7487 (toll free).
It has been brought to our attention that some users have received an e-mail from Blackboard informing them that their "Blackboard Profile" will be deleted in 30 days. We would like to assure everyone that your WCU Blackboard account is not the same as your Blackboard Profile and no one will lose access to the WCU Blackboard system and subsequent courses outside of the standard WCU policies. If you have chosen to create a Blackboard Profile and wish to maintain it, please click here for additional information on how to retain your profile.
Your username is your WCU email account username (everything before @). Your password is your WCU email account password.
